Finance Ethics Congress
The financial crises have left their marks, on an international scale, in numerous national economies. Yet, what lessons have to be drawn? Which are the right models and ways in order not only to sustainably restructure the economic as well as the financial system, but also to focus people’s basic values and attitudes accordingly? What are the resulting implications in institutional terms?
By now, the “Finethikon” Finance Ethics Congresses have become a hallmark of a profound scientific and practice-oriented discourse on ethics. After having been held in Berlin and Eichstätt in the past two years, their venues are now planned abroad: The next congresses will be held in Zurich and Rotterdam in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
It is essential to bear in mind the necessity of acting (in the field of economy) in line with moral and ethical principles not only in critical times like the present one. Due to this, the aim of our international congresses is to initiate a profound and critical dialogue on the subject of “Ethics, Recoverability and Sustainability in the Economic and Financial Systems”. The aim is to combine scientific findings with practical experience in order to determine approaches to problem solutions in theory and practice.
In addition, the congress organizers have launched their own book series which will be published, for the time being, as yearbooks of the respective congresses (see link Publications).
